A plain guide for Galway schools thinking about a trampoline. We sell the BERG Elite models that BERG approves for public use, we deliver them free, and we are clear about what remains the school's responsibility.
Three questions come before any model. What does your insurer require of playground equipment? How old are the pupils who would use it? How much clear, level ground is there? BERG does not recommend its trampolines for children under 6, and it recommends a safety net. Its home-use InGround manual goes further and does not recommend use without a net by children under 14.
A trampoline at a school is outdoors all year, and looking after it is the school's job. BERG's public-use manual requires a safety check every day, recorded in a logbook, and an adult supervising whenever it is used. Decide who on staff will do that before you order, not after it arrives.
We deliver free to schools throughout County Galway by pallet carrier. Stocked models usually arrive within 48 hours and others typically in 7 to 10 days. The Galway line is 091 423 369.
What "approved for public use" means. BERG lists these grey Elite models as approved for public use, tested by the independent Dutch institute Keurmerkinstituut. The certificate we hold, for the Elite InGround 330 Grey + Safety Net Deluxe (no. 148394, inspected 24 January 2022), states that it meets the Dutch playground equipment decree, assessed against EN 1176-1:2017. See BERG's list of approved models.
The school or setting stays responsible for local rules, correct installation, warning notices, a daily check with a logbook, and maintenance. We send BERG's public-use manual and warning notice for your model with your quotation. Check with your insurer before you order.
All three are on BERG's public-use list. Models with a safety net come first, because BERG recommends one.

Ring 091 423 369, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, or email trampolines@esi-ltd.ie. For a price to bring to your board, ask for a written quotation.
Tell us when you ask for a quotation. The trampoline comes on a pallet, so we need to know about narrow gates, restricted lanes or an island address, and we will check with the carrier before you order.
The school. BERG's public-use manual makes whoever runs the trampoline responsible for displaying BERG's warning notice, a safety check every day recorded in a logbook, and maintenance. We do not inspect or certify. We send BERG's manual and warning notice for your model with your quotation, and we supply genuine BERG replacement parts.
Some schools pay for play and PE equipment from their own funds or grants. Whether a particular grant covers a trampoline is for the funder to confirm. We can give you a written quotation to go with any application.
Tell us the setting, the age of the children and the space you have. We reply with a model suggestion and a written quotation you can bring to your board or finance office.
