BERG lists one range as approved for public use: Elite, in grey. This page sets out what that approval says, what it does not say, and every model on the list that we stock, with its price.
BERG lists the Elite range (grey) as approved for public use, tested by the independent Dutch certification institute Keurmerkinstituut. We hold one of the certificates, and this is what it records:
Elite is the only BERG range on BERG's public-use list. The approval is for named models, each with its own article number, and every one of them is grey. This is the one certificate we hold. For any other model on the list, ask us and we will request the certificate for your model from BERG.
BERG's public-use pageWhat "approved for public use" means. BERG lists these grey Elite models as approved for public use, tested by the independent Dutch institute Keurmerkinstituut. The certificate we hold, for the Elite InGround 330 Grey + Safety Net Deluxe (no. 148394, inspected 24 January 2022), states that it meets the Dutch playground equipment decree, assessed against EN 1176-1:2017. See BERG's list of approved models.
The school or setting stays responsible for local rules, correct installation, warning notices, a daily check with a logbook, and maintenance. We send BERG's public-use manual and warning notice for your model with your quotation. Check with your insurer before you order.
EN 1176 is the European standard for playground equipment and surfacing. It is voluntary. It is not law in Ireland, and no rule we have found requires a school to buy equipment tested against it. It is treated as the benchmark for good practice.
Insurers do refer to it. Allianz Ireland, a schools insurer, tells schools that playground equipment "must be installed in compliance with European Standards ISEN1176 and ISEN1177", inspected weekly by a competent person, and independently inspected once a year.
That is one insurer's condition for playground equipment in general. Allianz's page does not mention trampolines, and we do not know what any insurer will decide about yours. Ask them first.
These requirements come from BERG's public-use manual for the Elite InGround and its notice of additional warnings. We send both with your quotation.
We have not seen BERG's public-use manuals for the FlatGround and above-ground models. Ask us for the manual for your model, and cost the surfacing with your installer or surfacing supplier before you set a budget.
Installation and upkeep: who does whatThe 18 trampolines below are the grey Elite models that are both on BERG's public-use list and on our shop. Models with a safety net come first in each group, because BERG recommends a safety net.
BERG's list also includes a few other net options: the Safety Net Deluxe XL on the 430 and 520, and the Levels version of the 430. We can quote for those on request. Prices are from our shop. For a school order, ask for a written quotation.
Set into the ground with a low raised edge, roughly 10 to 20 cm. Each size comes with a Safety Net Deluxe or without a net.

The load test is a test, not a capacity. The figure that matters in use is the maximum user weight, for one user.
We have not seen a BERG figure for the maximum user weight of the Grand 520 or the Ultim 500. Ask us and we will get it from BERG.
These come from BERG's public-use manual for the Elite InGround. Ask us for the manual for your model.
For primary-age children we suggest a model with a safety net. If you are looking at a model without one for pupils under 14, put BERG's home-use guidance in front of your board and your insurer first.
BERG's public-use page and manual put these on whoever runs the trampoline:
The State Claims Agency's notice to schools says the same thing from the other side: the board of management is responsible for the condition of school equipment, and it should be checked and maintained to a routine schedule and the manufacturer's instructions.
Installation and upkeep: who does whatBERG's warranty is 1 year when a trampoline is used at a school or in any other public setting. The longer warranty advertised for home buyers does not apply.
It covers the frame, padding, jump mat, springs and safety net. Wear parts and the effects of weather, such as rust and discolouration, are excluded, and the manual says the warranty is void if the trampoline is not assembled and maintained as it sets out. Budget with that in mind, and keep the logbook up to date. BERG's warranty terms (PDF)
The full list of questions to settle, in the buying guideWe can answer for the model whose certificate we hold. The Keurmerkinstituut certificate for the Elite InGround 330 Grey + Safety Net Deluxe (no. 148394, inspected 24 January 2022) states that it meets the Dutch playground equipment decree, assessed against EN 1176-1:2017. BERG lists the other grey Elite models as approved for public use, tested by the same institute. We hold that one certificate, so for any other model ask us and we will request the certificate for your model from BERG.
BERG's public-use manual for the Elite InGround says the trampoline is not suitable for unattended public use and that an adult must supervise. It requires a safety check every day, recorded in a logbook, and BERG's additional warnings displayed near the trampoline. It also requires a shock-absorbing surface 1.5 metres wide around the trampoline, 2 metres clear of obstacles and 7 metres of clear height, and it prohibits installing on a hard surface or close to other play equipment.
No. EN 1176 is a voluntary European standard for playground equipment. It is treated as good practice, and insurers refer to it. Allianz, for example, tells schools that playground equipment must be installed in compliance with European Standards ISEN1176 and ISEN1177. Your own insurer's conditions are what matter for your school.
Grey Elite models only. This page shows the 18 of them that we stock: 8 InGround, 5 FlatGround and 5 above ground. BERG's list also has a few other net options, such as the Safety Net Deluxe XL on the 430 and 520 and the Levels version of the 430. We can quote for those on request.
Not as a public-use model. BERG's list covers Elite in grey. Other colours and the AeroWall bundle are not on it, and neither are BERG's Champion, Favorit or Pro Bouncer ranges. We do not offer those to schools.
We cannot answer that, and nobody but your insurer can. Speak to them before you order and ask what they need. We send BERG's public-use manual and its warning notice for your model with your quotation, and the Keurmerkinstituut certificate where we hold it. We hold the one for the Elite InGround 330 Grey + Safety Net Deluxe, and request others from BERG.
BERG's warranty is 1 year when a trampoline is used at a school or in any other public setting. The longer warranty advertised for home buyers does not apply. BERG's warranty document has the full terms, and we can send it with your quotation.
One. BERG's rule is a single user at a time with an adult supervising. A class cannot bounce together, so a school needs to plan for turns.
No. We sell and deliver. If you want it fitted, we can put you in touch with an independent installer and you agree the work directly with them. The daily check and its logbook are for the school. Where your insurer asks for an independent inspection, that is for an independent inspector.
Tell us the setting, the age of the children and the space you have. We reply with a model suggestion and a written quotation you can bring to your board or finance office.
