Why Elite, and only Elite
Most garden trampolines are made and tested for a family at home. BERG puts one range forward for places the public uses: Elite, in grey. That is the only range we show here.
The approval is BERG's, for the models on its list. It does not replace your own risk assessment or your insurer's conditions.
BERG's public-use pageWhat "approved for public use" means. BERG lists these grey Elite models as approved for public use, tested by the independent Dutch institute Keurmerkinstituut. The certificate we hold, for the Elite InGround 330 Grey + Safety Net Deluxe (no. 148394, inspected 24 January 2022), states that it meets the Dutch playground equipment decree, assessed against EN 1176-1:2017. See BERG's list of approved models.
The school or setting stays responsible for local rules, correct installation, warning notices, a daily check with a logbook, and maintenance. We send BERG's public-use manual and warning notice for your model with your quotation. Check with your insurer before you order.

BERG's rules for use
These come from BERG's public-use manual. They shape how a school can use a trampoline far more than the model does, so read them before anything else.
- One user at a time. This is BERG's rule, not a suggestion.
- An adult supervises whenever it is in use. BERG says it is not for unattended public use.
- BERG does not recommend its trampolines for children under 6, and says they are not suitable under 3.
- BERG recommends a safety net. Its home-use InGround manual goes further and does not recommend use without one by children under 14.
- No shoes, a dry mat, and no somersaults.
- Maximum user weight is 100 to 120 kg depending on size.
What stays the school's job
BERG's public-use manual puts these on whoever runs the trampoline:
- Meeting local rules for playground equipment.
- Assembly and installation that follow the manual.
- Clearly visible warning notices beside the trampoline.
- A safety check every day it is used, written up in a logbook.
- A shock-absorbing surface 1.5 m wide around an InGround trampoline.
- Maintenance, with worn parts replaced.

We sell and deliver. We do not inspect, certify or install, and we will tell you plainly when a question is one for BERG, your insurer or an independent inspector.

Which trampolines can a school in Ireland buy for pupils to use?
BERG lists its grey Elite models as approved for public use, which covers settings such as schools. No other BERG range is on that list. Whether a trampoline suits your school is still a decision for your board and your insurer.
Are BERG Elite trampolines EN 1176 certified?
The Keurmerkinstituut certificate we hold, for the Elite InGround 330 Grey + Safety Net Deluxe (no. 148394, inspected 24 January 2022), states that it meets the Dutch playground equipment decree, assessed against EN 1176-1:2017. BERG lists the other grey Elite models as approved for public use on the same footing. Ask us and we will request the certificate for your model.
Is EN 1176 a legal requirement for schools?
No. EN 1176 is a voluntary European standard for playground equipment that is treated as good practice. Insurers do refer to it: Allianz, for example, tells schools that playground equipment must be installed in compliance with I.S. EN 1176 and I.S. EN 1177. Ask your own insurer what it requires before ordering.
How many children can use it at once?
One. BERG's rule is a single user at a time, with an adult supervising. A class cannot bounce together, so plan for turns.
What ages is it for?
BERG does not recommend its trampolines for children under 6 and says they are not suitable for children under 3. BERG recommends a safety net, and its home-use InGround manual does not recommend use without one by children under 14.
What warranty applies at a school?
One year. BERG's longer warranty for home buyers does not apply when a trampoline is used at a school or in any other public setting.
Do you install trampolines?
No. We supply and deliver. If you want it fitted for you, we can put you in touch with an independent installer, and you agree the work directly with them.
